During his first term in the Legislature, Switalski will focus on:
- Creating good-paying jobs and fighting the outsourcing of our worker's jobs.
- Expanding educational opportunities for students and training programs for workers to help prepare them for jobs in the 21st century global economy.
- Increasing access to quality health care for Michigan's hard-working families.
Before being elected to represent the 25th House District, Switalski served two terms as a Macomb County Commissioner. He also previously worked as an aide to former U.S. Congressman David Bonior and most recently as an advocate for health workers for the Service Employees International Union.
As a local coordinator for Green Michigan, Switalski volunteers to promote initiatives that protect Michigan's land, air and water for future generations. He also serves on the Area Agency on Aging Board and the Macomb County Library Board.
Switalski was born and raised in Warren, where he continues to live. He is a graduate of St. Clement Catholic High School and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in political science from Grand Valley State University.
